Marceline found it laughable. She turned to look at him and said, "We're practically divorced—you're the one refusing to sign the papers. In the three years we've been married, you've barely spent any time with me. In fact, you were out with Jenna most of the time.
"Since you're so attached to her, I might as well step aside. Shouldn't you be happy?"
Upon seeing how calm she was, Curtis yanked her toward him. "Are you jealous?"
Ever since that hysterical fight three years ago, this had always been his way. He never addressed their issues directly and even seemed to take pleasure in her losing control and in her breakdowns.
