Chapter 24
Back when Julia saved Oliver, she wondered why he cared so much about Emily afterward.
She used to think it was just proof of how deep his love ran. Now, she realized he'd simply loved the wrong person. But none of that mattered anymore.
With all the shareholders present, Julia made it official and called for a vote to remove Oliver from his position as CEO.
The others looked at each other, hesitant to offend Oliver, but even less willing to offend the Vaughan or Yeomans families. Reluctantly, they cast their votes.
In the end, the votes to remove Oliver easily surpassed the 50 percent threshold.
Oliver sat through the whole thing, but nobody cared about his reaction.
At that moment, all the humiliation and heartbreak Julia had suffered over the years was finally swept away.
She had done what she wanted. Rising from her seat, she shot Oliver a cold, dismissive look. "Oliver, you've paid back everything you owed me. From now on, we're even. Let's never see each other again."
