Eira clearly caught him eyeing her and let out a dry chuckle-well, of course Alexander would instantly pin the blame on her with something like this happening.
Not that he was wrong. She did do it, after all.
"Mr. Brooks, really? You've got time to glare at me now?" she mouthed at him, her tone laced with sarcasm.
His chest tightened at her words, a faint flush creeping up his ears. Already fuming, her provocation just made it worse. Nothing could be more humiliating right now.
She must be having the time of her life.
"Mr. Brooks." One of the staff finally broke the heavy silence, voice cautious as they noticed his unfocused stare.
Snapping back to reality, Alexander forced himself to focus. First priority now-clean up the mess.
"Shut off the power," he ordered in a low, clipped voice.
"Already tried," the staff said with an awkward look on their face. "This screen runs on Brooks Group's newest tech-comes with backup power. Shutting power won't stop it."
