Enlyan sat on the edge of the bed, her thoughts swirling as she processed Daimon's actions. His cold demeanor from the past had been replaced by something unexpected—a kindness that seemed out of place for the man she once knew. How could he have a conscience now? she thought. How could he still care about his children when he tried to destroy me five years ago? She turned to Mini, who stood beside her, deep in thought. "Daimon didn't do anything to the kids. It's said he's quite kind. Mini, what do you think of him?" Mini paused, unsure of how to answer. She hadn’t known Daimon as long as Enlyan, but she could tell something had changed about him. "I don’t know either. He seems different now," she said quietly, glancing toward the door as Joxan and Jessica returned from their meal. "Mommy, we finished our meal. Are you done eating?" Joxan asked, his bright eyes filled with innocence, completely unaware of the tension in the room. Enlyan’s heart softened as she looked at her son. She f
