When Shaun came to, the first thing he saw was a white ceiling, with the sting of disinfectant filling his nose.
Sitting at the bedside, Caleb breathed a sigh of relief, but the worry in his eyes was still plain to see. "You're finally awake, Shaun. Do you have any idea how close you were to dying? If I hadn't gone to check on you when your phone didn't go through, you would be long gone."
When he got to Shaun, Shaun was already out cold from blood loss. The cut on his arm was still bleeding, and the bathroom was covered in red.
The doctor said that if Shaun had been brought in a few minutes later, nothing in the world could have saved him.
Seeing how pale Shaun looked, Caleb couldn't help but speak his mind. "Why are you doing this to yourself? Cecelia has only left. She isn't dead. If you die over this, how are you supposed to find her and beg for her forgiveness?"
