Chapter 119
Matteo’s POV
These are the most terrifying hours of my life. The fact that Isabella is out there, in great danger and waiting for me to rescue her, makes me feel so useless and stupid. I didn’t find her in the forest and it made me more miserable.
I don’t know what to do.
Falcon had to force me back into the helicopter after our failed attempt to rescue Isabella. If we didn’t see traces of car tires on the nearest road, he wouldn’t be able to force me to go back.
I was only gripping to the hope that Isabella managed to escape and she’s now free from Damon Sanchez’s grip. It was the only thing keeping me sane.
The helicopter thudded against the landing pad on the top of Falcon’s condominium building. I immediately jumped out of the helicopter as soon as the skids touched the concrete.
The sun had risen, but it didn’t feel like hope. It felt like a reminder that time was moving, and I was failing. I keep failing. I am so mad that the sun had already risen and I haven’t found Isabella.
