Isabella’s POV
The sound of my ringtone sliced through the depressing thoughts in my head from the failed job hunt. I took a deep sigh before answering the phone. “Hello?”

“Yes, speaking.” I continued walking with an attempt to call a taxi when the woman on the line answered.
[We are calling to inform you that you will be scheduled for a job interview opportunity.]
The incident earlier came rushing back into me. A betrayal that doesn’t come with an explosion but with a deadly whisper. My knuckles turned white.
