Matteo’s POV
The scent of pain lingered in my nose as I entered the hall full of children. Homeless, but hopeful. Their innocent smiles and joyful laughters bounced through the spacious hall as I roamed my eyes around. I found my son talking to a little girl who’s sitting in front of a canvas.
My jaw ticked as I adjusted the collar of my coat.
This isn’t my thing. But Noah, for the past five years, had been doing this. He makes me fund different events for homeless children. At first, it was irritating me. But the more I see my son smile, the more I get used to lending my resources to those who need it.
I watched the little boy next to me, painting like it was his last day on Earth. The happiness in his eyes was extreme, like nothing could ruin his mood.
From the corners of my eyes, I saw James, blocking all the media people trying to get to me.
I rested my back against the circular column behind me. My arms crossed against my chest, impatiently waiting for this event to end.
