Isabella’s POV
The morning light spilled through the large, tall, and rectangular window of my room. The sunlight was golden and warm—kissing my skin so gently, so comforting. After taking care of my daily routine, I moved quietly to the kitchen—not wanting to create unnecessary noise to disturb other people, or more like not to offend Matteo with noises after talking back to him yesterday.
I know I messed up, and I feel like I will not be welcomed to breakfast today, even if Noah invited me.
His voice—sharp, cold, and dangerous. It still lingered in my head, dropping weight in my chest. He didn’t shout at me. He didn’t curse. But the weight of every word he threw crumbled my defense and cut through my confidence.
I overstepped. He was right. I should know my limits.
