Isabella’s POV
“Are there any other legal documents, Miss Clarkson?”
I was sitting across the table from the public lawyer I had scheduled an appointment with to consult about the problem in the orphanage. The ticking of the clock was enough to mock me about the time I had lost trying to figure things out.
After Damon beat me with his insults, I went straight to a law firm to consult, but the lawyer didn’t seem to have better advice.
“Those are the only documents we have.” My voice was hoarse and tired.
On the table lies a picture of the orphanage, and a copy of donation documents to prove that it’s still operating.
The lawyer massaged his temple and looked at me. “There’s no formal deed or letter of donation, no notarized document. Legally speaking, we cannot hold this against those businessmen.”
