I picked up the call and heard a familiar voice.
"Sophie, it's me."

I stayed silent, but I continued shaping the clay.
"I know you can hear me." He sounded a little tired. "How much longer are you going to put up a fuss? Come back. I can pretend that nothing ever happened."

Ten minutes later, the same number called me again. This time, I switched off my phone right away.
The next day, I headed to a mobile phone shop to change my phone number. I only informed the hospital and a few other important people.
There shouldn't be a trace of past traumas in a new life.
