Chapter 27
When the results were announced, Eleanor won Best Actress for her performance in a film that laid bare human nature's complexity. As her name was called, the audience rose to its feet in applause.
Under the brilliant lights, she walked slowly onto the stage and accepted the heavy trophy from the presenter. Her eyes shimmered with tears, but her smile was radiant.
She gave a brief speech, thanking the director and the crew before her gaze sought out Luke in the audience. Her voice softened, warm and steady.
"Finally, I want to thank one person in particular—my love, Luke Fraser. Thank you for always being by my side and for giving me your support and strength. This award belongs to you as much as it does to me."
The camera turned to Luke. He stood, eyes glistening, and blew her a kiss across the hall. Laughter and applause broke out all around them, filled with genuine warmth.
