Chapter 19
I never would've imagined that the person inside the car was Ian.
What was he doing here?
I coughed as I shouted, "Ian! Ian!"
I pulled at the door with all my strength, but the crash had warped the frame so badly that it wouldn't budge.
With no other option, I quickly called Caius and told him to contact emergency services immediately.
Then, I picked up the rock again and kept smashing it at the window. After what felt like forever, the entire front passenger side finally gave way.
Without hesitation, I climbed in. Jagged shards around the frame scraped against my skin as I squeezed through.
A sharp pain shot through my arm and thigh where the glass had cut me, and I winced.
I took a few steadying breaths and pushed forward until I was fully inside the car.
I quickly unlocked the car, and the click of the lock releasing brought a wave of relief.
I reached up and gently patted Ian's cheeks. "Ian! Can you hear me? Wake up! Please, wake up!"
