Chapter 7

Ian returned home dejectedly. As soon as he opened the front door, Shawn rushed over and stood on tiptoe to look behind him. When Shawn saw that there wasn't anyone behind him, he immediately pouted and complained, "Where's that woman, Dad? Why's she always going off by herself every day?" A bitter smile flickered on Ian's face. "She left." Shawn's eyes widened. "What are you saying, Dad? H-How could that woman possibly have left? She's definitely just playing hard to get!" "Playing hard to get, huh?" murmured Ian. A flash of pain crossed his gaze. At that moment, he actually wished it were true that Dahlia was playing hard to get. However, she hadn't attended the wedding, and she'd even sent him a divorce agreement. Even when he'd instructed people to search the places she frequented, they hadn't found any trace of her. He could tell that Margaret hadn't been lying. She really hadn't known where Dahlia went. This chain of events told Ian one thing—Dahlia had really left them.
