Chapter18: Agreements and New Choices

Mayara and Celina were sitting on opposite sides of the living room, the air thick with tension between them. Cassandra's revelation of secrets had created a rift between the two sisters, making the task of investigating even more challenging.   Celina broke the silence first, her voice tinged with frustration. "Mayara, we need to put our differences aside and work together if we want to uncover the truth about Cassandra."   Mayara nodded, albeit reluctantly. "I know, Celina, but we can't just ignore the fact that we're at odds. It's only going to make everything harder."   "So, what can we do?" Celina asked, her eyes searching Mayara's for a solution.   After a moment of reflection, Mayara suggested, "Maybe we can make a deal. We can establish some ground rules on how we're going to conduct the investigation and how we'll handle our differences."   "That sounds reasonable," Celina agreed, a glimmer of hope crossing her tense face.
