Chapter 144: Sleeping in His Arms
Arthur noticed everything. Hiding something from him was impossible, and emotions were the hardest to cover up.
"What's with the look? Something happen?"
His hand rested against my chest, fingers moving in slow, careless circles. His voice sounded calm, but there was a hint of something underneath. Concern maybe.
"I got kicked out."
I gave him a crooked smile, bitter and self-mocking. Getting thrown out of the hospital by my own family. How pathetic was that?
His hand stilled for a second before sliding over me again, as if nothing had happened.
"Why?"
"They think my brother's condition is my fault. Now the whole family's blaming me, so…"
I didn't even know why I was telling him this. It wasn't his problem. Saying it out loud wouldn't change a thing.
