Chapter 17 Her Past

The next morning, Angus had just arrived at the office when Alan walked into his office with the information. "Boss, it has been checked out." Alan stood in front of his desk and spoke. "Say." Angus was leaning back in his chair with his back to Alan, looking out the window at the sky. "Lina was born in Kenya, and when she was nine, Celta sent her and her father, Dill, and sister, Nicole, to Porto, where they were picked up by Celta until a few months ago." "Porto? Why did they leave?" Angus asked, speaking up. Alan turned over a page of the files and continued, "Celta took over Dill's company and drove them out." "Go on." Angus's face, as Alan reported, gradually became ugly. "A few days before returning to Kenya, her dad and sister were in a car accident, her sister died, and then later, she was brought to Kenya by Celta." "And whose baby is in her belly?" Angus asked. "Not sure, she didn't graduate from college and dropped out after her dad was hurt by the car accident. She had no lovers, and didn't get particularly close to any man, except for Lauren, her college senior, only her neighbor Hansen had a good relationship with her." Lauren is his good brother, the child can not be Lauren's, then, the only possible father of the child, is Hansen. But after hearing what Lina had gone through, he realized what Hansen meant when he said, "It was really hard for her to survive." This information from Alan took only a few minutes to finish. But he could imagine how hard it had been for Lina to live all these years. He always thought that she married him knowing that he was "very sick and dying and sexually impotent"and just she wanted his fortune. Originally he was puzzled that she was the daughter of Celta, and her family was considered wealthy, and that working at the cafe was a means to some end for her. But now he realized that he was the one who misunderstood that she would work at the cafe and also to make money. Thinking about all the excessive things he said to her during this time, Angus felt a little regretful. "I have something to do, if there is anything urgent, wait till I get back." Angus finished his words, picked up the keys on the table, and headed for the door. Alan looked at the back of Angus leaving, looking at the survey files in his hands, the corners of his mouth rose slightly, He was still very optimistic about Lina as the boss's wife. Inside Dae Kim Hospital Hansen had already helped Lina with the discharge process and was getting her things ready to move to her new place. Just as they were approaching the hospital entrance, a man suddenly rushed in, and because he was so fast, he bumped into Lina's shoulder as he passed by. "Watch out!" Hansen immediately held her up. The image looked like a hug to Angus, who had just walked into the hospital. His chest burst into flames of anger. "Mrs. Angus, you don't seem to be taking what I said to heart!" Angus looked at Lina coldly. Lina then realized, like a small child who had done something wrong, and removed her hand from Hansen's, "Angus, I-" "Lina, you don't have to explain yourself to him." Hansen didn't hide his hostility and pulled Lina behind him. "Mr. Angus, your marriage with Lina is nothing but a deal, it won't be long before you get a divorce, so you are just working together, you have no right to be angry with her." "You got her pregnant and you still let her marry me, and you're entitled to say that?" Angus asked mockingly. Hansen's face really became ugly. The child in Lina's belly was not his, but it was true that it was because he did not take care of her, otherwise she would not have to suffer this. "You don't deserve to be called a man at all." Angus continued without mercy. After all, in his opinion, Hansen's incompetence lay in allowing Lina to carry his child, but failing to protect her and letting her marry another man. Lina's face became ugly after hearing Angus' words. She didn't care about the disrespectful things Angus said to her, because she did conceive a child without being married, and, didn't even know who the father of the child was. But he can't involve Hanson, who was her brother, and she wouldn't allow Angus to insult Hanson like that! Lina stood in front of Hansen and looked angrily at Angus. "Mr. Angus, I know you loathe me, so I don't care what you say, but you can't talk about him! What happened between us has nothing to do with him." Hansen didn't expect Lina to stand up for him and was a little surprised. But Lina's words completely angered Angus. "Deal or not, you're my wife now, and you're such a good girl to be so close to another man in front of me." Angus looked at Lina angrily and said mockingly. Hell, knowing that it was only a partnership between him and Lina, he didn't have to care who she was going to be intimate with and who she was going to be with. But he just couldn't stand the fact that she was cold to himself, but so gentle to other men, and, it's just an irresponsible man who got her pregnant and made her marry someone else! "Lina, ignore him, let's go." Hansen said to Lina. "Angus, I know you're sick of me, and as of today, I'll be moving out, but I'll be at work on time tomorrow." Lina said and followed Hansen out. Move out? This damn woman, did she actually say she was moving out? Move to this damn man's house? "Didn't you want me to give Ollie the chance to cooperate? I'll give you the opportunity." Angus's cold voice came from behind Lina.
