She never once doubted her assistant’s loyalty and honesty. As long as the assistant agreed, she’d definitely get it done right—so in her mind, half the job was already nailed.
Rachel Collins wasn’t exactly clueless either. She knew to make a few appearances on Maria’s set before the poison arrived—just to get acquainted with the crew. That way, when things went down, she wouldn’t seem completely out of place.
“Why is she here again?” Grace shot a sideways glance at Rachel, who was busy chatting up the assistant director. Her tone was full of annoyance. “Noah’s not even around. She’s hanging around for no reason—definitely up to something.”
Maria found it odd too, but with filming wrapping up soon and her mind on getting home to see her two kids, she didn’t dwell on it. “Who knows what scheme she’s working on. Whatever, let her be.”
