At 2 a.m., James Bennett sat stiffly in front of his laptop, staring at the screen like he was deep in work mode—but in reality, he was just playing Minesweeper.
His plan was simple: when he couldn’t stay awake any longer, he’d crash at a nearby motel in the residential area. He figured he’d just let Yi Nan know later—he’d cut the footage however it needed to be cut.
By 6 a.m., Oliver Perez caught sight of him passed out at the desk and, after hesitating for a moment, walked over and gave him a gentle tap on the back.
James wasn’t a heavy sleeper—he woke on the spot, blinking in confusion up at Oliver.
"If you don’t mind,” Oliver offered, “go take my bed. I just switched out the sheets the other day, should still be clean enough.”
James gave a small smile. “Thanks.”
He tried to stand, but his legs and arms were numb from the awkward sleeping position and he plopped back down with a soft grunt. Oliver helped support him and led him to his bed.
