Yenna sat back in her chair. Seeing the staff member end the call, she asked casually, "Rita's not coming?"
"Yes." The staff member glanced nervously at his boss. "Ms. Tate said that not only will she not be attending, but she won't be working with us again in the future either."
Yenna let out a scoff and turned to Jonas.
"Don't take it personally, Mr. Hood. She knows she can't beat me, so she chickened out. She's saying this to save her reputation. Otherwise, she'd be ruined in this industry."
Jonas leaned closer to her, deliberately lowering his voice. "Who cares whether she makes it or not? As long as you're happy."
Yenna's eyes flickered with disgust, although her face remained pleasant.
