Back in my own office, I buried my face in my hands as I thought of the next cause of action. My head ached and the heartbreak coursed through my system like wildfire. It’s one of those situations that you get caged, powerless to escape.
Isaac was right. Adrian knew something and he wasn’t telling me. Why?
I thought that we’d reached a point where we’d share everything without holding back. I swear, I would have understood his reasons but now he was making matters worse by keeping quiet.
The shrill ringing of my phone brought me back to the present. I reached out and picked it up from the table then I placed it on my ears lazily.
“Hello …” my voice came out hoarse and low.
“Rose …” the moment I heard the voice, my chest rose and fell rapidly. The emotions came busting out of me like a ticking time bomb. I haven’t talked to her for a very long time and she seems to know when to call. I was deeply overjoyed to hear the sweet sound of her voice.
Maybe, she had a solution for my problems.
