Chapter 6 I'd Rather Die
"Humph. That's right. You'd better explain clearly what's the relationship between you and that man."
After hearing his words, Loria felt he was very ridiculous. "Explain? What are you talking about, Mr. Franklin? Why should I explain it to you?"
She sneered. "Who are you to question me? The president of Cubic Group, or Yvonne's boyfriend?"
Theodore wore a freezing face. The woman's words really made his heart burn with hatred. "As your ex-husband, I have the right to know whether I have been cheated on or not."
Loria smiled sarcastically. In his eyes, she was such a dissolute woman. "You want to know it? But I don't want to tell you."
After speaking, Loria rolled her eyes at him and strode out. She had said all, and she didn't want to waste any more time.
Theodore still wanted to catch up. Wade was worried about Loria's situation, so he got out of the car and followed her. Seeing Loria holding Wade's arm without looking back, Theodore clenched his fists.
His phone rang at this moment, stopping him from catching up.
"Mr. Franklin, Ms. Chavez announced your wedding at the scene today. And what happened tonight had gone viral. The PR department is not sure whether you want to publicly admit your wedding with Ms. Chavez."
"Don't mention it right now. We will talk about it after the tumult has subsided."
"Okay. The plan has been sent to your mailbox. Do I need to wait for you at the company?"
Hearing this, Theodore checked the mailbox. The plan given by the PR department was to ask Theodore and Yvonne not to clarify anything in public. Then the company would announce the relationship of the top streamers in advance who were going to announce recently. When people's attention shifted, they would make a simple statement after the turmoil passed.
Years of experience in dealing with entertainment news told him that this was the best way at present.
"Follow this plan. Don't wait for me. I'll go back to the villa tonight."
"Yes."
After hanging up the phone, Loria's car disappeared from his sight. Theodore took a deep breath to calm himself down and then drove to the villa.
Before entering the door, he heard the sound of breaking things and Yvonne's roar.
"Get out. All of you. Get out!"
When Theodore entered, several servants stood aside timidly with their heads down. Some of them were frightened and started crying, and two of them got blood on their heads by the things thrown by Yvonne.
Seeing Theodore come back, Yvonne changed her expression in an instant. She hid her arrogance and pretended to be delicate with tears in her eyes.
"Theodore, you're finally back. I know you still love me. You won't believe that bitch's words, will you?"
While speaking, she stepped forward and hugged his arm, which easily made people have pity for her.
Theodore's expression was not good. He looked at the servants standing in front of him. They immediately understood and left, leaving only the two of them in the living room. Theodore pushed Yvonne away calmly who was hugging his arm.
Then he strode to the sofa and sat down, staring at her with cold and deep eyes as if he could see through her, which made Yvonne panic suddenly.
She wanted to catch up and hug him, but Theodore stopped her harshly. "Stop."
She paused and couldn't control the tears. "Theodore, what do you mean? Don't you believe me?"
Theodore lit a cigarette and said in a hoarse voice, "I called Mr. Weaver on the way back. What Lora said about the stunt double was true."
Yvonne's body froze. She said, "It's normal to use a double for filming. You know I'm not very strong. I can't shoot fighting scenes, so I can only use a double. Why can't I do it since others can?"
Seeing she didn't intend to tell the truth, Theodore went straight to the point. "The stunt double is Paula's daughter. You gave them a hard time on purpose."
After Lora divorced and disappeared, Yvonne quickly moved into this villa. The first thing she did after she came in was to fire Paula.
Paula was indeed old, so he agreed without thinking too much and gave Paula some compensation. He didn't expect Yvonne was still hassling them.
"I..." Yvonne was speechless, and her tears kept falling. She continued after a while, "I didn't mean to target anyone. I only found out later that she is Paula's daughter. Since she is a stunt double, she has to do her job. That's what she should do. She got injured accidentally. It has nothing to do with me."
Theodore didn't speak. Amid the smoke, his expression showed no joy or anger. Yvonne knew the quieter he was, the more dangerous he was.
She began to hold her stomach and collapsed on the ground with a painful expression. Seeing this, Theodore really became nervous. He threw away the cigarette butt and stepped forward to embrace her in his arms.
"Have a stomachache again? I'll take you to the hospital."
Yvonne grabbed his hand and said, "It's not as painful as my heartache. I thought you believed me. Since you don't believe me, I might as well be dead."
Theodore's brows were tightly furrowed. Yvonne said again when she saw this, "I know, you are blaming me for saying those things in public. I exposed your hidden marriage with Lora and recklessly announced our relationship."
While speaking, she coughed weakly. Theodore immediately hugged her even tighter. "No more to say. We'll talk about it after you feel better."
Yvonne shook her head. "No, I don't want you to misunderstand me all the time. It's worse than letting me die. Lora has been missing for five years and suddenly appeared today. Don't you think it's strange? She clearly knows you and I are getting married soon, so she came back to take revenge. You know what kind of person I am. How could I be unkind to Paula's family?"
Yvonne cried even harder. "Today I was frantic by Lora's sudden appearance, so I said those words in public. Everything I said is true. She deliberately humiliated me. You and I are going to get married, isn't it?"
Theodore was still silent. Yvonne struggled away from his arms when she saw this. "Or you never planned to marry me from the beginning? When I had stomach cancer, I went abroad alone for treatment so as not to drag you down. It's really hard for me. But as long as I think about the future with you, I get over it and finally survive. If you don't want to marry me, I'd rather die than live without you."
As she said, she gritted her teeth and was about to hit the wall not far away. Theodore quickly reacted and hugged her tightly into his arms.
"Don't stop me. Let me die."
Theodore was afraid that her mood swings would affect her condition, so he hugged her to the sofa and said, "Calm down. I trust you."
Yvonne finally calmed down. "Really? Theodore, do you believe me? And you will marry me as you promised?"
Theodore nodded. "Grandma didn't agree with you and me because Lora is missing. Since she's back, I will do what I say."
At this moment, a woman's majestic voice suddenly came from the door.
"Dare you!"
Following the sound, they saw Jean sitting in a wheelchair, looking at them seriously. She seemed to have been in for a while, but the two didn't notice.
"Grandma, why are you here?"
Theodore stood up. Yvonne also stood up and stepped closer behind him.
"If I don't come, I may miss a good show." The housekeeper Jon behind Jean pushed her forward.
"You saw the news." Theodore knew very well that his grandma was also been looking for Lora for the past five years. She believed that he forced her away, so she always disagreed with his relationship with Yvonne.
"What? Are you so afraid that I know the truth?" Jean said in an unpleasant tone.
Seeing this, Yvonne stepped forward as if she felt unfairly treated. "Grandma, what happened today was a misunderstanding. Don't..."
Before she finished speaking, Jean interrupted her directly. "Don't call me grandma."
"You are Theodore's grandma. After we get married, you will also be my grandma."
Jean sneered. "Humph. You're expecting too much. As long as I'm alive, I will never admit you as my granddaughter-in-law."
Yvonne's red eyes were full of tears again. She lowered her head and sobbed in a grievance.
Seeing this, Theodore protected her behind him. "Lora is back and has children with another man. You can ask her about the divorce. She agreed to it by herself. No one forced her. Why do you vent the anger on Yvonne?"
Yvonne took the chance and said, "Theodore, don't talk to grandma like that. I must do something wrong that displeased grandma."
Jean said with a sneer, "You don't have to act in front of me. My grandson can't tell your trick, but I can see through your mind clearly. Even if Lora has children, I still won't let you enter our family."
Seeing this, Yvonne cried even harder. Theodore worried that she might relapse, so he asked someone to send her upstairs.
Looking at Theodore caring about Yvonne so much, Jean was very frustrated.
"You really want to marry that woman, don't you?"
Theodore stood straight and said resolutely, "Yes."
"What if I let you make a choice between her and me?"
Theodore frowned instantly. "Grandma, you are pushing me."
"Yes, I don't want you to regret it in the future."
Theodore gritted his teeth, and Jean snorted. "If you dare to marry her, you will not be my grandson anymore, and I will die in front of you."
After speaking, Jon pushed her away, leaving Theodore standing there with sharp eyes.
Standing upstairs at the corner, Yvonne had heard everything. The corner of her mouth twitched uncontrollably. "Old witch, since you block my way, don't blame me for being rude."
