“Elizabeth had depression, and you want your sister to keep her company?”
William was technically smiling, but his tone? Ice cold. Gave everyone in the room chills down their spine.
The man got excited the moment William responded, jumping at the chance, “Of course, Mr. Turner! My sister would be happy to—”
And that's when it hit him. The “Elizabeth” William mentioned… was Mrs. Turner. The one whose funeral service they were attending today.
His jaw dropped so wide, you could fit an egg in it. Shock written all over his face.
“When would she be free? Tonight? Or maybe right now?” William frowned slightly. “Don't make Elizabeth wait too long.”
