When Thomas stepped into the old house, he was immediately hit by a scolding from Charles.
He felt so wronged, but there wasn't much he could say back—just had to suck it up.
Meanwhile, Charles simply called out to Evelyn and walked off toward the dining room without sparing Thomas another glance.
Thomas turned to George and Hannah with a totally confused expression, silently asking, "What's up with Grandpa today? Did he swallow a bomb or something?"
George just scoffed and trailed after the old man.
Hannah shrugged, clearly clueless. There was no way she could admit this might have been her fault.
Watching the two of them walk off, Thomas was still scratching his head. He couldn't make any sense of it.
But he quickly shook it off and followed them into the dining room.
Evelyn was already seated beside Charles, who was enjoying his meal and frequently serving her her favorites.
