Chapter 455
Natalie Lane fought through her weakness to tell Evelyn Knight everything she could. Her face had gone pale as a sheet, sweat clinging to her skin.
Seeing how uncomfortable she was, Evelyn gently asked, “Do you have any idea if Nathaniel Andrews left any proof behind? Or maybe something he gave Lydia?”
“I really don’t,” Natalie said, looking guilty. “After he found out I was spying, he locked me up. All these years he only let me see the surface stuff. He knew I hated him… he never let me near anything important.”
Evelyn believed her. If Lydia hadn’t known something, she wouldn’t have tipped off the group in Damien Holt's organization about her connection.
And if even Natalie didn’t know? Then yeah… that meant total dead end.
There was no fix to this.
And Lydia was gone. A dead woman couldn’t come back and spell out the truth.
