My chest tightened with emotions, and I stared at the letter from my mom, feeling the memories and emotions cloud my thoughts. I reached out to touch it, and suddenly tears started forming in my eyes. She left me a letter.
"This can't be," I whispered to myself. All this time, the letter was here, in my chest... and I had never seen or discovered it. Hearing the door slam, I snapped my head towards the sound and panicked.
"Lex! I'm here. Where are you? And why are some of our things packed?" Dahlia questioned with a curious tone, and her footsteps advanced towards me room. I quickly put the letter back in the lining, then replaced the other documents. Wiping my face, I strengthened myself. I had to read the letter, but later. "I'm over here, Lia!"
