Alpha Nicholas's POV I laid in our hotel room, thinking I was finally going to be a father. It was something I'd wanted ever since I'd become Alpha at twenty. Now four years later, Hannah was carrying my first pup. The thought filled me with happiness. We'd tried so hard, wanted this so much. We'd never told anyone that we weren't original mates. I'd marked her as mine, which was the reason she couldn't conceive. After trying again and again, and losing the baby every time, Hannah had been broken as was I. But finally we found a specialty doctor who was also a wolf, who explained to us the procedure of in vitro fertilization. Now we were blessed with happiest of blessings, and I could only be grateful. Beside me, Hannah laid curled against my body, her golden hair spread over the pillow, her dark lashes shadowing her eyes. I smiled. When she woke up, her ocean blue eyes lit up, and happiness swirled inside them. She smiled at me, a soft, contented smile, and I returned it.
