Bellamy dropped her gaze, hiding the chill and sarcasm in her eyes. Her tone was calm, almost indifferent. "Axel, you know better than anyone-I've never let anyone wrong me without payback. Now that I'm back, I'll get to the bottom of everything. And whoever hurt me? They'll pay. If you're here to talk me out of it, then really, don't bother."
Axel's fingers clenched tighter, his head slightly lowered as if caught in thought.
After a long pause, he finally looked up. His eyes-uncannily similar to Fraser's-locked onto her. "Bellamy, listen to me. Fraser doesn't remember you. Not even a little. Whatever you plan, he's not going to help you. You're on your own this time. And I've got my own people to protect. If we end up on opposite sides, I'm telling you now-you won't win."
Bellamy's expression stayed cool, but inside, her contempt deepened.
