Chapter 33
Bellamy just shrugged, tone casual as she cracked a light smile. "Relax, I'm not here to pick a fight today."
She shot a glance at Marianne, who swayed ever so slightly, before strolling toward the kitchen like it was no big deal. But when she got to the doorway, she paused and turned back.
"I'm making dinner. Just checking-are you two sticking around to eat? Should I cook for one, two, or make it three?"
Her calm caught Fraser off guard, and even Marianne looked a little surprised.
Finally, Marianne spared her a glance, voice flat and emotionless. "No need. Just cook for yourself."
Then she turned toward Fraser. "Drive me home, and stay for dinner."
Fraser instinctively wanted to say no, but before he could open his mouth, Bellamy beat him to it with a breezy tone, "Sounds like it's dinner for one, then."
Fraser gave her a look-deep, unreadable-but didn't argue. He grabbed his keys and walked out with Marianne.
