Chapter 72
Bellamy caught every little movement he made, then smiled slightly and opened the door. "Hop in," she said to Cecily.
"Thanks," Cecily replied, sliding into the passenger seat.
Bellamy started the engine and drove off fast, leaving Nathaniel standing there, face as dark as a thundercloud.
After a long moment, he suddenly kicked the side of his sports car hard and cursed under his breath, "Damn it! Useless!" - who exactly he was scolding, nobody knew.
Bellamy was always focused when driving. Cecily stared out the window without saying a word. The silence in the car was surprisingly comfortable, not awkward at all.
They pulled up in front of a department store.
From a distance, Bellamy could see a stage set up in the lobby on the first floor. Even from inside the car, the cheap mic system screeched in her ears.
"Wait... you're doing a guest gig?" Bellamy asked, a bit unsure.
She remembered when Cecily used to be crazy popular - one of the most promising new actresses back then.
