At dawn the next day, the doorbell suddenly rang.
I pulled the door open, and several reporters immediately shoved their cameras in my face. Their mics were practically down my throat.
"Mr. Selleck, what response do you have regarding the accusations against you on the Internet? Did you really treat your postpartum wife so cruelly?"
"Is it true that you made her eat food from the trash can?"
I lowered my eyes and plastered a pained, weary expression on my face as I said in a choked voice, "It's not what you all think. There's a reason for what I did."
Just as I finished, my lawyer, Mr. Whitby, stepped forward. "Please calm down, everyone. My client has prepared evidence to explain everything."
I turned on the projector that I had set up in advance and started a live broadcast.
