I didn't know if it was because I was nervous, or if it was because I hadn't had a sip of water the entire night, but the pain in my stomach began to spread across my entire body. I suddenly tasted something salty in my mouth and vomited up a mouthful of blood. Even I was stunned as I stared at the dark red liquid spreading across the floor. Could my gastritis really have turned cancerous, just as the doctor had warned? "Zara." Steve immediately picked me up and walked outside in long strides. He didn't wait for the driver. Instead, he drove me to the hospital by himself. I stopped coughing up blood once I got in the car, but the pain in my stomach remained intense. I glanced at the man beside me, driving in silence with his lips pressed tight. A bitter smile tugged at mine. "Do you believe me now? I didn't lie to you, Steve." Steve still said nothing and only sped up even more. When we arrived at the hospital, he carried me and sprinted straight to the emergency room.
