"If your sister really doesn't know how to behave, then you'd better keep her at home and teach her some manners. Don't let her run wild like a rabid dog, biting everyone in sight."
Tristan shot Aidan a cold glance, the corners of his mouth curving into a mocking smirk.
Aidan's expression darkened instantly, his fists clenching unconsciously.
But he knew better than to offend Tristan. Taking a deep breath, he forced down the anger boiling in his chest and replied in a low, icy voice, "You're right, Mr. Freeman."
Tristan didn't bother with him anymore. He walked off, arm around Cassandra.
Aidan watched their backs disappear into the crowd, an indescribable bitterness rising in his chest.
Tristan noticed Cassandra's body had stiffened slightly. He glanced down at her, his eyes filled with gentleness and resolve.
"Don't worry. I'm here. If you're still upset, I can always have someone give her another beating. You just have to say the word."
