Chapter 11
Rosalie's first stop upon arriving in Lovick was the Fort family's home.
Though she had subtly expressed her intention to go to her apartment, Leah quickly dismissed the idea.
"The apartment's not fully set up yet, and your school doesn't start for a while. You might as well stay with us for now. It'll be more convenient."
Unable to decline the kind offer, Rosalie reluctantly agreed.
In the car, Leah held her hand and chattered on about old times.
On one hand, Rosalie was glad that Marion had a friend who cared for her and remembered the youthful days they shared after so many years. On the other hand, she felt a pang of sadness. Such a deep friendship now existed only in the distance, held together by memories.
Marion, all the way across the ocean, had her two most important people in her life finally brought together. Yet, all she could do was long for them from afar.
