9 Hunting

As the yacht continued to ride to the deepest part of the sea, Karen never imagined she would step in here. Travis who was sitting next to Olivia stood up and came to sat down next to her. “You look sad. Are you not enjoying the ride?” He asked. “I am.” She replied quickly. “You see, my brother Noah has been putting so much interest in you that—” Before he could complete what he Noah walked towards us and stood in front of Noah with a hard glare. “Relax I was just sharing a few words with her.” Travis smiled. “You should leave.” Noah said. “She is a lovely girl.” Travis said in a calm tone. “Are you trying to court my maid?” Noah asked, staring at his brother with a raise brow. Travis smiled looking at his brother. He was just flirting with the girl and wasn’t interested in anything. One night with her wouldn’t cause a problem but he knew his brother would send him out the minute he tried to. “Maybe.” “It seems like you are competing with me on having her. Would Olivia give you that chance?” Travis asked, his eyes moving to Karen and he stared at her for a few minutes before looking back at his brother. “Who is competing with you and for who?” Noah asked, crossing his hands against the chest. “No one comes near my maid. You should go find someone else to flirt with and not her.” “I need drink here!” Olivia shouted at the maid. Karen who found the right opportunity to leave, quickly dashed out from there. She carried the cooler of drinks and walked towards them to serve them. “What were you discussing with them?” Olivia questioned with a hard glare. “Uhm..... Nothing.” She said handling the drink. “Why do I feel like you are lying?” Olivia asked. “What else do you want to hear from her?” She heard a voice and raised her head to see Travis. He sat down next to Olivia and wrap his hands around her but she shoved his hands off. Once she was done serving the drinks to Travis, Olivia and the man sitting next to Olivia, she decided to go serve Noah. Taking the cooler to where he was seated, she handed him the cold drink before sitting down far from him. “What is it with the distance? Are you now afraid of me?” He turned to her and asked. “No, Sir.” She replied. “Then move closer.” He said, using his hands to pat the space next to him. Karen stood up from where she was seated and sat down beside him while keeping a small distance. When she looked up at him, his blue eyes and become cold. “Sit here.” He said, patting the space she should sit down. Karen gulped softly before moving closer to him. Her hands were rubbing against his and it made her feel uncommon. Using the corner of her eyes to stare at him, she saw him look at the calm sea. “Have you been seeing my brother at the Mansion?” He asked. “No.” She shook her head. “And do you have any male you see outside this Mansion?” He asked. Karen looked at him softly. Why was he so interested in knowing her relationship with other? “Answer me, Karen.” His eyes were calm in the ears but his eyes were still cold. “I have no make I am acquainted with outside the Mansion.” She answered. “I am sure you read the agreement about not having any close relationship with people during your working hours?” He questioned. Was he going to punish her now? Wasn’t it his brother who approached her to ask her question? If she has rejected him he would have gotten mad at her. She remembered what happened last time they met at the hospital and didn’t want it to repeat itself. “Yes, Sir.” She nodded. “Good. I don’t want anyone coming to see you even when you are free.” He said. “Why not?” She asked, slightly angry hearing his words. “You came here to work and not go go around seeing men. Don’t you understand?” He asked. “I understand, Sir.” She nodded her head. She saw him push her in a way that she was facing him directly and not the calm sea. Taking her hand, he removed the button on her sleeve and pushed it up to hold her wrist so he could have a clear view of her finger which had a cut. “Sir—” “The cut has closed up. You will need to apply ointment around the wound to make it heal quickly. Do you still have any pains?” He asked. “No Sir.” She shook her head. “Good.” He dropped her sleeves down and turned his gaze back to the sea. They could see dolphins coming out of the water to take aid and go back inside. Olivia who had seen their small interaction and didn’t like it, walked towards them. Even though there were boundaries between them, she had come to realize about her strong liking towards him. “What are you two doing?” Her question was fixated to Karen. “Karen had a small cut in her finger last night. I was checking if it has healed up.” Noah said. “Let me see.” Olivia moved closer to her and took her hand. She stared at the wound before pushing her sharp nails into the wound making it have another opening. This made Karen wince in pains and she tried to take her hand back but Olivia was still holding it. “Ouch!” She winced in pains. “Does it hurts?” Olivia asked her, making sure her voice was calm in the ears but her eyes were glaring at Karen. She continued to press her sharp artificial nails for some time before she finally let go of her hand. Blood seeped out of the wound but Karen quickly hid it from Noah. She didn’t know what she had done to make Olivia get angry at her. She was not like this when they went for the job. Noah was about to turn around to Karen when Olivia pushed him closer to her side. “We should hunt for fish. What do you think? Some of the men at the board spoke about this sea having a lot of good fish.” She said. “Hunting? Count me in!” The unfamiliar man said walking closer. They got the bait and everything needed to hunt for the fish. “Ohh poor dolphin.” Karen said with a smile as she patted the dolphin’s head. She gave him some of the fish food and the dolphin went back inside the water. “I think I got one. I need help over here.” The man said and Travis walked closer to her. When they brought the hook out of the water, they saw that the fish had escaped from it after eating the bait they put at the edge of it. “Looks like we lost that one.” Travis said. Noah who was preparing his own hook turned to Karen and ask. “What kind of fish do you want me to get? Turmoil? Sardine fish?” Karen looked at him wondering why he was asking her that kind of question when Olivia was there to answer him. “I think sardine fish would be okay for me.” Olivia smiled. “What about you, Karen?” He asked. When her eyes moved to Olivia, she noticed her narrow her eyes at her.
