Chapter 8
"I don't want you to catch a cold," Sebastian said softly.
I remained seated and didn't move.
Sebastian was so close that I could feel the warmth of his breath brush against my ear. From the way he gently removed a fallen leaf from my hair, it was as if he were handling something precious.
"Kylie! Kylie!" Suddenly, I heard Lucas' heart-wrenching cry from outside the gates.
As fewer bodyguards were on duty at night, there was no one to stop Lucas from entering the grounds. He stumbled into the garden.
Lucas looked so thin that he was almost unrecognizable, and his eyes were bloodshot. "Kylie, I'm sorry! I know what I did was wrong! It was my fault! I shouldn't have asked you to put up with that mess!"
I didn't respond. Meanwhile, Sebastian walked toward Lucas, causing the latter's expression to shift. "Kylie! Who's this?"
Sebastian immediately stood in front of me. Then, he landed a heavy punch on Lucas. "This is for Kylie."
