She sounded so certain that Ambrose instantly broke into a cold sweat. His pupils contracted as icy dread crawled up his spine. Did she remember? Or had she been pretending to have amnesia the whole time? "Why are you being so ungrateful?" Ambrose snapped, forcing himself to stay calm. "If I hadn't taken you to the hospital, who knows what could've happened to you. Instead of thanking me, you're interrogating me like I'm some criminal?" He was holding the line. He absolutely couldn't admit anything. "There is no way I'm breaking off my engagement. Give it up," Lorraine said coldly. "And I need to rest now. You should go." She shot him a cold look and told him to leave. She still had doubts about how she got hurt, but she had no proof and no memory of what had happened. The only thing she was certain of was that Ambrose was lying. Relief washed over Ambrose. She had just been testing him. Thank god he hadn't slipped up. He'd almost fallen straight into her trap. Once he was su
