"Get in," Justin said.

Lorraine opened the door and settled into the passenger seat as instructed.
"Don't stay out alone this late again. You can always call me," he said as he started the car. His tone made it sound almost like a lecture.
He had heard from a former classmate at the police station that Lorraine was reviewing surveillance footage, so he had put his work aside and come straight over.
It was late at night, and she was a young woman wandering around alone. What if she had run into any trouble?
"I don't usually stay out this late, and I was right at the entrance of the police station. If I hadn't run into you, I would've grabbed a cab home. Nothing's going to happen to me, Justin. Don't worry," she said, nervously fidgeting with her fingers.
