Chapter 5

 Bryant eventually became part of my daily life. Studying computer science, he often asked me about business management—how markets shifted, how decisions branched into consequences.   I couldn't refuse someone so sharp and eager to learn.   But Bryant? He fought back. In little ways, stubborn. He always insisted on buying me coffee or making me something to eat.   Days passed, and my belly grew bigger. Months went by without Andrew bothering me; life was quiet. I saw Anna online sometimes. News said she had depression, her state going up and down, needing constant care.   Bryant and I grew closer.   That summer, since he was a junior, I brought him into the company for an internship. I wanted to help him grow. Not only because of Edward's heart... but because he was good.   Really good.   In just two weeks, he and his project lead solved a major tech problem.
