Chapter 1746 Do You Believe Her
Margot sat quietly to the side, listening intently. The maids had gone back to their room, leaving just the two of them in the living room.
Whenever Barbara needed a break from talking, she would take a sip of water before continuing. She spoke openly as if Margot was her closest friend, not holding back anything.
Margot felt conflicted, but she didn't show it on her face. She just watched quietly.
After a while, Barbara finally stopped talking. She looked at Margot and hesitated. "Do you believe me?"
Before Margot could respond, Barbara forced a self-deprecating smile. "I understand if you don't. After all, I'm his fiancée, and he and Benjamin are competitors."
Her lonely expression made her look like an abandoned stray, tugging at people's hearts.
Margot sighed. "No girl would joke about her own reputation. It must be true if you're willing to say it."
Hope appeared in Barbara's eyes as she looked at Margot. "Do you really believe me?"
Margot nodded. "I believe you."
Barbara immediately broke out in a happy smile.
However, Margot then said, "Yet what can I do even if I believe you? Were you hoping I would stand up for you? Or should I ask Benjamin to intervene and dissolve your engagement with Lance?"
Barbara's smile faltered, and the corners of her lips twitched. "It seems like there's nothing anyone can do. We are still engaged, and he wants to use me as much as possible."
Margot looked at her pale face. "Would you like to stay here tonight?"
Barbara hesitated. "Is that okay?"
"Of course," Margot said. "Your feet are of your own, and you can go wherever you want. No one can control you."
Barbara gave her a grateful look. "Thank you for taking me in."
Margot summoned a maid to prepare a room for Barbara before bringing her there.
"It's getting late. Rest well. If you can't dissolve your engagement, just do what you need to in front of him," Margot said faintly.
Barbara nodded. "I understand."
As Margot turned to leave, Barbara suddenly stopped her. "Ms. Zimmerman."
"Yes?" Margot turned back to look at her.
Barbara smiled at her. "Thank you."
Margot hummed in acknowledgment. "You're welcome. It's just a small favor."
With that, she left.
Barbara watched her retreating figure, and her smile gradually faded away. She lowered her gaze, and her eyes darkened.
Margot returned to her bedroom. Her phone was still on the bed with the game interface on the screen. She closed the door behind her, and when she turned around, a warm body pressed against her, pinning her to the door to kiss her.
Margot groaned. When did he come in? It was late. Why hadn't he gone to sleep yet?
After a while, Benjamin's lips landed on her neck. His breathing grew heavier, and he asked hoarsely, "Do you believe her?"
Margot smirked. "Do I look so gullible?"
Benjamin chuckled and raised his gaze to look at her. His charming eyes were glossed over, making him appear even more enchanting.
Margot's heart fluttered as she held his face to kiss him.
Right now, there were more pressing matters to do! Their intimacy was the top priority!
Benjamin let out a soft sigh and held her waist, and the two of them tumbled onto the soft bed.
