Howard frowned slightly. When Alyssa saw Megan's name flashing on his phone, confusion flickered in her eyes—along with something else she quickly concealed. "Howard?" Alyssa called softly when she noticed his hesitation. Howard snapped back to his senses. Megan was calling right after Alyssa had shown him the scandal of her late-night visit. Was Megan calling to yell at him? He rejected the call. A few seconds later, his phone buzzed again—it was Megan. This time, irritation crossed his face. "Aren't you going to answer her call, Howard?" Alyssa asked. Howard immediately rejected the call again before silencing her number. "Just ignore it," he said coolly. Alyssa looked as though she wanted to speak but held her tongue. She nodded hesitantly, unsettled on the surface, but when she lowered her head, delight flashed in her eyes.
