Samuel cleared the table, then turned to Zara with a reassuring tone. "I'll find someone else to help you, don't worry."
Zara gave him a soft, knowing smile. "Sam, you're so good to me."
They left the cottage soon after. The car was parked farther down the main road as it couldn't enter the narrow road. Jorvania wasn't far, so they'd come by car that morning.
Once they were seated inside, Zara noticed he was still holding that same flatbread. "Sam, want me to throw that away for you?"
"Haven't had it before. I think it's pretty good," he said, stopping her. Then, he took another bite.
He took a big bite, but it didn't look rough. He was filled with elegance to the bone. Combined with his sharp features, the sight of him was intoxicating.
Zara didn't actually want to marry him, but having a man like Samuel wrapped around her little finger made her feel deliciously powerful. She leaned in with a teasing smile. "I've never tried it either. Is it really that good? Let me have a bite?
