Chapter 3 Chapter 2

One of the moltuariats, probably the head places a cover over the heartless corpse and wheeled it away just as four doctors and two nurses walked into the room all dressed in green overalls for the operation about to be conducted and this time they move to the opposite of where the heartless corpse once laid. They all stare down at the other girl, who even in her drug induced sleep looks exactly what she is...a reckless person who has no regard for anything as long as it didn't give her cigar or alcohol, now she is paying the price...or maybe she didn't and it was paid by someone else. She looked wild with massive curls of platinum blonde hair which would have reached her waist if she was standing and a flower tattoo on her neck and on her chest few inches before her small firm breasts. She has earrings attached to her nose and navel which a nurse moves to remove but was stopped by the head doctor. "Do not remove anything from her. Let her leave here the way she came, I don't want any trouble from her when she wakes and sees that her body piercings are gone. I've had enough with her lousy friends already." The nurses threw dirty looks at the blonde lying down. They all feel disgusted that someone like her had to be lucky to get a heart donor without having to stress. They all felt she didn't deserve it. She deserves to die, was what they thought. "It's time." The doctor announced and pulled on his gloves and nose mask and the rest followed suit. Starting the operation, what they had in mind was that they were trying to safe a soul and keep a heart beating. But does the soul about to be redeemed still belong to its real owner? Have tea! ;-) Toby was woken from his dream when his little sister, Sadie hit him hard on his thighs. In the dream he saw Mara, she smiled the same smile that always made his heart almost burst out of his chest and drop into her hands but this time it made his heart ache. "Mara, come back let's go home." He saw himself saying in his dream even though he knew deep down that there was no way that was happening. Yet he hoped. "I can't." She had replied making his heart ache a lot more. It felt like an unseen hand had reached into his chest and was squeezing his heart so painfully he almost felt dizzy from the pain. "Please Mara." He found himself begging. "Please come back to me Mara. I can't live without you." "That's where you're wrong Toby, you can live very well without me, you are doing that now." "I'm alive?." He asked in his dream. "Well I won't be for long without you." She shook her head. "I'll always be with you Toby." "No!." He screamed. "I don't want you to be with me in the spirit, Mara. I want to see you. I want to wake up to your face early in the morning and I want your face to be the last I see before I sleep." "I won't be with you in the spirit Toby. I'll always be beside you. You will always see me." She deadpanned. "H-how." He asked even though he had been the one asking her to come back to him. He knew that she couldn't come back, at least she shouldn't be able to except a miracle happens but something inside him just couldn't stop begging her to come back. He was pulled out of the dream world when he felt something hit him on his thighs. He sat up straight looking around the room frantically but relaxed when he spotted a familiar face, his sister's. He gave her a questioning look, his mind still blank. "You were thrashing around so I had to hit you." She said with a shrug and then seeming to remember what happened, she sobered up. "I'm sorry for what hap-". She started but what cut off by Asher, Toby's best friend who smacked her arm hand. "Ow. What was that for?." She asked scowling. "You weren't supposed to break the news to him like that." He murmured not meaning for Toby to hear but he heard anyways. "I thought he knew already." Sadie snapped. "He does, but you weren't supposed to remind him." He snapped back his tone rising. Sadie and Asher always had it for themselves, they always say they hate each other but everyone who knows them knows it is a big lie. Every time they bicker they always end up staring at each other's lip, which means something if you ask me. They both forgot their fight when Toby suddenly stood up and ran out of the room, they ran after him telling him to wait, he didn't listen and kept running until he collided with a stretcher carrying a stiff body, he was about to take off again when he spotted the familiar face laying on the stretcher. His heart went into his throat as he saw the once tanned beauty who was now pale and cold and stiff and....lifeless. He watched as the moltuariats continued to drag her body down the hallway with empty eyes. Asher and Sadie were saying something to him but he wasn't listening, he was in a world of his own as he backed into the wall as if to run away from his feelings which was numb at that moment. He seemed to come to his senses or maybe lost his senses when he raced after the moltuariats carrying his wife away with Asher and Sadie hot in his trail. He started dragging the stretcher towards himself, hitting everyone that came his way, shouting her name this time with the fear of being lonely. It seemed it had dawned on him how bare his life would be without her inside, he wouldn't be able to love again. Two hefty security men came and tried to drag him away but they didn't succeed and had to use the help of two other cleaners who had their own shares of muscle. With their combined effort they carried or dragged him away from the corpse. Away from his love, his life. Right then, as they dragged him away he knew a realisation hit him and it made him shudder. He wasn't ever going to love again. He would become a heartless man. And he knew it. His baby-bugga-boo was gone, forever. The doctor reached for a white cloth placed in a tray which a nurse held, she cleaned her blood stained hands on it and sighed. She looked down to the girl who looked lifeless at the moment but was sure going to be up and living her reckless life again. She had a flash back to the heart donor and a feeling of sadness washed over her but she didn't let it show. As a doctor she should always be strong even in the most sorrowful situation like that one. She then looked back at the bimbo lying on the bed and asked the question she had been asking herself throughout the operation activity..."is she worth it?." Before she finally announced what everyone in the room was waiting for. "We did it."
