All morning long.
Troy glanced over at Elsie. “Month’s almost over, time for annual leave soon. Sis, why do you look like you’re in such a bad mood again?”
Elsie turned her head, looking out the window at the persistent rain. “Might not be going anymore.”
“Why not? The rain should stop in a few days, shouldn’t mess with travel plans. Weren’t you two heading to Iceland? I checked the forecast, weather there’s actually pretty decent.”
Troy kept chattering on until Elsie cut in, “We had a fight.”
“Ugh, no way!” Troy’s face fell harder than hers. “Don’t do this to me, you two are my last hope for love. A little fight's fine, just don’t let it drag on. Make up already, please.”
Elsie gave a faint smile, but didn’t respond.
She just couldn’t lie to William and say, “Even if your family’s behind my parents’ death, I can still be with you like nothing happened.”
