Elsie felt like she couldn’t breathe.

Her voice was hollow, eyes locked on Margaret with disbelief.
“You knew it was him who kidnapped us, who killed my parents—why didn’t you go to the police? When they came to investigate, why did you keep quiet?” Her words came slowly, softly, but each one hit like a hammer. “Just because he's part of the Harding family, he gets to kill three people and walk free?”
