Saving him

After the ruthless alpha left, students began to return to the class. They stared at me like they'd seen a ghost. I had to glare at them. Ella walked in. She looked around and when she saw me, she rushed to me. "Olive, are you ok?'
"Do I not look ok to you?"
She chuckled. "Of course, you look ok. I am just been caring. I heard some students saying you were in the class when the ruthless alpha came"
I sighed. "Yeah, but..."
"But what?"
I rolled my eyes. "You won't even let me talk"
She chuckled. "Sorry"
I sighed. "Come closer" I whispered. Ella moved closer to me. "You won't believe what I'm about to tell you". She furrowed her brows. "He said I am his mate". Ella moved backward and then screamed. The rest of the students stared at us and I groaned. "You're yelling, Ella"
She placed her hand over her mouth. "I-i am so sorry". "But are you been serious?". I nodded. "What about Nolan?"
I rolled my eyes and folded my hands. "Well, I don't know. And I've thought about it". I turned to face her. "Is it possible to be mated to two alphas?"
She chuckled. "Don't be ridiculous. That isn't possible. None I have heard of"
I rolled my eyes. "I thought about that too. But that isn't the problem here. He wanted Nolan to accept the rejection or he would kill him"
"Kill him!!" She yelled and everyone turned to look at us.
I poked her. "The next time you scream, I will make sure I pull off that mouth of yours". She chuckled and muttered a sorry. "For your question. That's what he said. But I told him not to kill Nolan. I couldn't accept it". I sighed. "Now he gave me two months to either reject Nolan completely or accept him"
"What do you plan to do?"
I shrugged. "I don't know. It's very difficult to pick"
She held my hand. "Two months are a long way to go. You can take your time to make your choice". I nodded. "Just know that whatever your choice is, I will always support you"
I smiled and hugged her. "Thanks"
Ella pulled away from the hug. She looked around and then face me. "Have you seen Nolan?"
I hissed. "Are you asking for Nigel?"
She chuckled. "I saw Nigel with Bella at the cafeteria but Nolan wasn't with them"
I batted my lashes. "You mean Nolan isn't in school?"
She laughed. "I thought you don't care?"
I shrugged. "I never said I care. I was just asking"
She stood up. "There is no point asking then"
I rolled my eyes. "Whatever" I mumbled

Ella halted the car right in front of our packhouse. I stepped out looking a bit worried. Dad had sent a message to us at school to return to the packhouse. They had heard a rumor that the moonline pack would be invading our pack. I walked past the guards and went straight to my room. I lay on my bed and closed my eyes. My mind drifted back to my encounter with the ruthless alpha. I sighed and sat down. What am I going to do?. I can't accept Nolan as my mate. He's too weak and I can't reject him fully either, he might die or lose his wolf. I groaned. Why do I have to be in the midst of this?. What am I going to do?. Different thoughts ran through my mind. I brushed my hair backward and sighed. I was so confused. None of the options seems to be a good one. I stood up and walked to the window, staring into space. The door to my room opened, jolting me out of my thought. "Olivia" mom called. I rolled my eyes and then turned
"Mom"
She smiled and walked closer. "Are you, ok?"
I nodded. "I'm fine, mom"
She sighed and held my hand. "Walk with me". I nodded and followed her. We got to the garden and mom sat down. I followed suit. "Olive"
I rolled my eyes. Mom doesn't call me Olive. She calls me Olivia. I rolled my eyes. "Yes, mom"
"Promise me. Livia, if our pack is been attacked you will run and not fight"
I batted my lashes. I can't do that. Why would I run away?. "Mom, there is no way I will run away"
She held my hand and made me face her. "Listen to me, Livia. You being alive is very important. Not just to us as your parent but to the pack as a whole. The pack will need you alive"
I rolled my eyes. There is no point in arguing with my mom. I sighed. "Mom, I will try my best to keep the pack safe"
"I don't want you to fight. Not get involved in the fight"
I nodded. "I've heard you, mom. I won't"
She smiled. "Good". I rolled my eyes. "How about your mate?"
I groaned. "You mean my rejected mate?"
She frowned. "Livia, I thought by now you would have changed your mind?"
I rolled my eyes. My mom is a woman of short words. I don't understand why she's saying so much today?. "Mom, are you ok?"
She nodded. "I am. We should talk about you and not me"
"There is nothing to talk about"
"There is a lot to talk about. I heard your mate is an alpha". I batted my lashes. Ella!!. That girl has run her mouth. I groaned. "Which pack is he from"
I rolled my eyes. She hasn't told my mom, he is from the fire pack. Mom would have given me a hundred reasons to accept him. "I don't know mom". She gave me a suspicious stare and I chuckled. "I don't know yet mom. But I will find out"
"Are you sure?"
I nodded. "Yes mom"
She stood up. "You should return to your room"
I nodded and stood up. "Take care of yourself mom"
"I will"

I couldn't sleep throughout the night. I was so worried about Nolan. Not like I liked him or care about him. I was just worried he might take my words to heart and hurt himself. Maybe that was the reason he wasn't in school today?. Maybe he was so ashamed of himself and couldn't face me. I rolled on the bed. I knew my words were too harsh on him. I shouldn't have said those words to him. I sighed. Tomorrow, I will have to apologize to him. I don't mean every one of the words I said. Though I meant some but not all.

I walked into the class, hoping to see Nolan. I scanned the room. My eyes landed on Nigel. He was seated alone with no Nolan with him. I folded my hands together and walked to my seat. Why isn't Nolan in school today?. He wasn't in school yesterday and today also?. I brought out my mathematics notebook and stared at it. I could remember when Nolan tried to help me out with some maths problems and I had yelled at him. I dropped the book on the table and sighed. Ella walked in smiling as usual. Nigel is in class, she will smile. I rolled my eyes. Why couldn't she accept the fact that Nigel has a mate and move on? She can't just wait for her mate, instead of going after someone else's mate. I rolled my eyes. She walked past me and went to meet Nigel who smiled broadly when he saw her. I groaned. I couldn't hear what they were saying but the way Ella was laughing I could tell Nigel had said something funny. I hissed. "Whatever" I muttered
I placed my head on the desk but raised it when I heard some noise. "Nolan is involved in a fight," a guy told Nigel
I batted my lashes. Nolan is in school?. How come he isn't in the class with Nigel. And why will he involve himself in a fight?. The Nolan I know doesn't fight. He must have been troubled. I stood up abruptly and dashed out of the classroom. Ella yelled my name but I ignored her. I got to the scene, right in time. The guy was about to raise his hand to hit Nolan. I rushed toward him and push him down. He groaned
"W-who the heck is this"
I hissed and punch him right in the face. "That's for taking advantage of an innocent guy like Nolan"
Someone pulled me off him and I groaned. "Hey, I did not ask for your help"
I rolled my eyes. It was Nolan. "You're...". I batted my lashes. "Y-you're bleeding". He placed his hand on his mouth and groaned.
"He must have hit me real hard" he mumbled.
I groaned and turned in the direction of the guy. He was about to stand up. I rushed to him and began to punch him. The more I remembered the blood I saw, the angrier I became.
