The feeling

THE RUTHLESS ALPHA
I walked into my training ground. I needed to do a little bit of training before going on this night's mission. We will be attacking the sunrise pack today, just like we did to the moon pack some nights ago, we will be doing the same to them. The training ground is located amid a deep forest, just a few distances away from the fire pack. A few of my guards were on stand-by. They were gathered across the forest not for security reasons though, cause I can take good care of myself but just to be on alert if there should be any invaders. Two were in the training ground with me. "Martins, take your position. You're training with me"
He bowed and walked closer to me. "Yes boss"
I position myself to get ready for attack. He also positioned himself as the fight began. The swords aggressively clashed with each other. Despite being good with the sword, I still admire Martins' skills. He is a trained fighter. He used to work with my dad before he died, as a secret agent. And after my parents' death, he had been my right-hand man. Though he taught me how to fight, he still accords me respect as his Alpha. "Alpha, Alpha" someone yelled
I dropped the sword to the floor and turned. My eyes were turning red already. How I hate to be disturbed amid training. "How many times have I warned you to not disturb my training!!" I yelled. My voice was coarse. I had used my Alpha tune on him.
He went down on his knees. "I... I... I'm sorry Alpha. We are under attack"
Under attack?. That can't be possible. I groaned. "Attack?"
"Yes, Alpha. Two of the guards in the east wing are down"
Someone has betrayed my trust. I hissed. "Who attacked?. Where did they come from?"
"They are warriors from the sunrise pack"
I batted my lashes. That can't be true. They don't know about our visit, yet. I groaned. "How many of them came?"
"Over a hundred warriors, Alpha"
Another warrior rushed in and I groaned. "Rex, what..."
"I'm sorry Alpha, we are under attack" Rex answered
I hissed. "How many warriors have you lost?"
"Two, boss. They.. "
"Four out of twenty warriors lost in a day?". I sighed. "And where are the rest?"
"I asked them to go into hiding while I bring the news to you". I nodded. "They also left this"
He handed over a scroll to me. I opened it and it reads:
They call you the ruthless alpha because they know not who you are. No one knows your real identity, and you intimidate others with that. I know who you are, I know your real identity. You're Alpha Nolan of the fire pack. you can't intimate me anymore"
I threw the scroll across the room. My anger took the best part of me. I shuddered with the wave of rage that swept over me. Someone has betrayed me. I blinked my eyes, which had already changed from its emerald green to light gold. "Which of you betrayed me?". They shuddered in fear. I skewered them with a steely look that had them taking a step backward. "Don't let me repeat myself. Which of you betrayed me?". They stared at each other in confusion. I had read through their minds and I find out they were innocent. I sighed. "We are leaving"
**
I walked into the warehouse angrily. The rest of the warriors were on standby. Martins moved closer to me and bowed. "We heard the news"
I ignored him. The rest bowed their heads while I walked past them to take my seat. I could see fears in their eyes. I tried to calm my nerves as much as I can. "Which of you betrayed me?". It was a straightforward question that needed a direct answer.
They bowed their heads not wanting to stare at me. I stood up and walked amidst them. They shivered at my sight. I sniffed the air, trying to sense their fear. My eyes caught sight of one of the men who was standing at the far end of the room. I walked closer to him and he froze. I hissed. I could sense great fear in him. I turned to leave but stopped. With a snarling fit for a threatened tiger, I lunged for him and caught him by the neck. He trembled. "I-i'm sorry. I-i"
"You dare betrayed me!!" I yelled
"I-i"
I grunted. "Matt, what were you offered?"
"I-i so sorry"
I hissed. "How much did they know about us?"
"J-just your identity and the locations of our hideout"
I punched his face angrily. "You're such a...".
He spits out blood. "I-i so sorry"
I brushed my hair backward. " Arden!!"
Arden walked closer to us and bowed. "Yes Alpha"
"You know what to do"
Arden gestured to two warriors and they jerked him off his feet. I watched them take him out of the warehouse as he kept screaming and begging but I turned deaf ears to him. There was no way I will listen to his plea. I turned to face the rest and I could see fear in their eyes. I sighed. "Now listen, all of you. If you dare betray me. I won't spare you". I stared at them. "Did you all understand?"
"Yes, Alpha"
I brushed my hair. "We won't attack today. You can all return home to your family"
"But sir..." Martins made to say something. I rolled my eyes
"No but. Go"
They returned home, leaving just me alone. I sat down to strategize another way to get back at sunrise pack. I won't be sparing them!!.
**
I was in my room all through the morning. I had to stay indoors to come up with a better plan. Since Matt had told out, secrets I needed to come up with a new plan. I couldn't go out until evening. I went to the warehouse to meet with the rest of the warriors, so I could tell them the new plans. When I got there, Arden was the only one there. "Welcome Boss"
I nodded and walked in. Papers and maps were liters around the warehouse. I picked up one of the papers and went through it. I smiled. "You've been trying a way out?"
"Yes, boss". He came closer and picked up a paper from the table. He stretched it to me and I took it. "I got a message from an insider. If we got through this place, we are going to have a better chance"
I rolled my eyes. "Do you trust your insider?"
He nodded. "Yeah. He's been giving me all the information"
I sighed. "I do have a plan to but we will go with yours"
**
The fight with the sunrise pack was a tough one. They were stronger and more prepared than the moon pack. And knowing a bit about us, gave them an upper hand. The clashing of swords could be heard. I stood afar, watching my warriors fight for victory. I was aiming for the alpha of the sunrise pack. After watching for a while, I find my way through the group of fighters, fighting my way warriors.
Getting to the alpha of the sunrise pack was more difficult than I thought. Though the packhouse was just a few distances away from me and I could see the alpha outside the packhouse with a few warriors, the road was guarded with so many skilled warriors. It took me a while to get through to them. I stood in front of him. He smiled"Good to see you, Alpha Nolan". I stared at him but said nothing. I could see fear in his eyes but he tries to hide it as much as he can. "As the dog finally cut off your tongue, Nolan?" He asked
I hissed and raised my sword. "I'm not here to batter words with you. Pull out your sword let's fight"
His guards rushed towards me. "Your boys will be fighting for you?. That's so weak of an alpha"
He scoffed and gestured for them to go back. "I will fight you myself"
I rushed towards him and we began to fight. After a while of a great fight. I was able to conquer him. I lost more warriors than I had lost in the last few months. After speaking with the rest of the pack members, I sent my warriors home to have a great time with their families, as we will not be going for any battle for a while.I rolled my eyes. It's Olive, the rude girl from the club. I groaned. "What the heck are you doing here?"
She hissed. "I should be asking you that" she yelled.
I groaned. This girl is just too aggressive for my liking. "This is my school, ok?. If there is anyone new here. It has to be you"
Ella chuckled. "Come on, Olive. It's your first day here. You shouldn't be causing a scene"
I rolled my eyes. So she's new here. Olive stared dangerously at me for a while. I wasn't moved by her looks. I stared back at her. "Pray we don't cross-part again, cause if we do. I'll break you," she said. My eyes widened. Is this girl threatening me?. She walked past me, hitting me in the process. I could feel tingling. She stopped moving and stared at me. My wolf was happy and it was like it might jump out of my body soon. I rolled my eyes. She can't be my mate right?. We were both lost staring at each other and I could bet I saw sparkles in her eyes. Ella cleared her throat, jolting us back to reality.
I rolled my eyes. She hit me for the second time, this time harder. I groaned. "Hey!!". She ignored me and dragged Ella with her. I rolled my eyes. There's something about this girl, that I don't seem to understand. I kept staring at her until she was out of sight. Her scent still fills my nostril. I sighed. Nigel burst out into waves of laughter and I hissed.
"Where the hell do you know her from?" He asked
I hissed. "It's a long story"
"Tell me every detail of it"
"You will have to ask the google search engine for that" I answered and walked out on him
He ran after me. "Hey!!". I ignored him and walked into the class. Some girls waved at me while others were ogling.
A few minutes later, Olive walked into the class with Ella. "Hi, Nolan" Ella waved
I smiled and waved back at her. "Isn't she cute?" Nigel whispered
I furrowed my brows. "Who?"
"The Olive girl"
I hissed. "And aggressive too"
He chuckled. "You haven't told me how you guys met"
I rolled my eyes and picked up a textbook. "What are we supposed to have now?"
"You're ignoring me? Huh?"
I stood up. "I think I need to get something from my locker," I said and walked out of the class. I could hear Nigel groan but I care less.
**
It was time for lunch. Most of the students were out of the class, leaving me, Nigel, and Olive. Nigel was busy with his phone. While Olive was writing down some things. With the look on her face, I knew she was finding whatever she was doing difficult. I decided to offer her a hand. I stood up. Nigel raised his head. "Hey, where are you going?. Ain't we supposed to wait for Bella?"
I rolled my eyes. Nigel and his questions!!. "We are waiting for Bella"
"And where the heck were you going before I stopped you?"
I pointed at Olive. "To help her out"
He hissed. "And when did you become a helper? Nolan?"
"Can't you see she's finding it difficult"
"I know. I can see it vividly. But what I don't understand is how that is your problem?"
I rolled my eyes. "I'm just trying to be nice"
He dropped his phone on the table. "Tell me. Is there something I'm missing out, on about this girl?. Have you started growing feelings for her?"
I chuckled. "Are you kidding me?". I sat down. "Look at her attitude. Is she the kind of girl I want?"
"No, that's the surprising thing about it. Nolan, what's going on?"
I chuckled. "Come on, it isn't a crime to help right?"
"No, but are you sure you ain't doing it for some purposes?"
I rolled my eyes. "Yes"
He stared at me suspiciously. "No strings attached"
I chuckled. "None, I could think of". He sighed. "Can I go now?"
"You can. But when she breaks your heart. Don't come crying"
I rolled my eyes. "I never said I was going there to ask her out"
"I never said that too"
"Whatever" I murmured. I left Nigel and went to meet her. "Hey". She raised her head. "I can see you're finding it diffi..."
She cut me short. "I never asked for your opinion"
I groaned. "Are you always like this?". She furrowed her brows. "I mean rude, sassy.."
She placed her hand on the table and batted her lashes. "I think you've overstayed your welcome"
"What?"
"You heard me and I'm sure you ain't deaf". I rolled my eyes. "Get out!!" She yelled. I rolled my eyes. "Get..."
"You don't have to shout, ok?. I'll leave". I left her and went to meet Nigel who was staring at us. I knew he was going to laugh. It's just a matter of time. He didn't let me lie, cause he started laughing the very moment I got to our seat. I glared at him.
"I told you it was a bad idea"
I hissed. "It wasn't like I'm asking her out"
"Does she look like someone who cares?"
I groaned. "Gosh!. I feel humiliated". Nigel laughed. "Stop laughing. It ain't funny"
He closed his mouth with his hands. "I just can't help it"
I hissed. "And where is that mate of yours?". He giggled. "She should be here by now. What's keeping her?"
"Hey, don't pour your vexed anger on my mate"
I hissed. "If she isn't here in the next five minutes, I'm leaving"
He chuckled. "Talking of the devil". I turned towards the door. Bella was walking in our direction. I smiled. That's my cousin. I like the way she carries herself.
"Hey cousin. Hey love". She took turns to peck us but spent time kissing her mate.
I groaned. "There are singles here, remember?". I stared at Olive to see her reaction. Surprisingly, she was staring at me too. But took her eyes away when I turned. I giggled.
"Is someone in love?" Bella asked
I furrowed my brows. "Who is in love?"
She chuckled. "You of course. Do you see how you've been staring at the boy over there. Don't tell me...". I looked at Nigel and we began to laugh. "What?. Am I missing something?"
"He's a girl. Sorry, she's a girl" Nigel answered. I was too busy laughing to think of the best answer that suits her question.
She narrowed her eyes. "Are you for real?". I nodded. She chuckled. "I suspected when I entered. She's too cute to be a boy"
Nigel rolled his eyes. "What do you mean?. That guys ain't cute?"
I giggled and relaxed. Another hot couple's fight is about to begin. "No, I was just saying she looks like a girl..."
"That doesn't justify, your words"
"Come on, baby. I don't mean it that way"
I rolled my eyes. Boring couples conversation. I stood up. "When you're done arguing you know where to find me"
Nigel mind-linked, me. "Hi, Nolan. We ain't done talking"
I hissed. "She's your mate, not mine. Sort yourself out"
**
The rest of the day at school was not the way it used to be for me. I couldn't concentrate in class. I spend most of the time staring at Olive. She glared at me at every slight chance she gets, but I was too lost staring at her, to be bothered about that. Nigel kept nudging me. When it was time to go home, my wolf whined. He doesn't want to stop staring at our supposed mate. I wasn't even sure she was our mate yet. But this feeling, I'm having right now, is making me feel she have to be my mate. "Enough of the staring, let's go home," Nigel said
I rolled my eyes and stood up. "I wasn't staring"
"You were"
I hissed. "Meet me in the car"
He dragged me back and I glared at him. "What are you hiding from me?"
I groaned. "Nothing"
He hissed. "Nolan, I know you too well. You're hiding something"
I rolled my eyes. There are lots of things hidden from you, Nigel. "I'm not" I answered
"Is she your mate?"
I rolled my eyes. "No"
He laughed. "She's your mate"
"She isn't"
"Yes, she is". He pointed at my face. "You see this look, I can still remember it"
"I don't know what you're talking about"
He laughed. "Two years ago. When I do help you sneak out of the packhouse". I groaned. "I don't think she knows you are the one she saved some years back"
I hissed. "She isn't the same. A lot has changed about her"
He chuckled. "Someone has finally accepted the truth"
I furrowed my brows. "That what?"
"That she's your mate".
I hissed. "She's too aggressive"
He chuckled. "Does she know yet?"
"That what?"
"That she's your mate". I shook my head. "I think you should tell her"
I hissed. "What difference will it make?"
"You never can tell"
"I can't"
"Come on, you can"
"I think it's a bad idea"
"It isn't trust me"
I sighed. "I trust you. I will tell her tomorrow"
He laughed. "That's my boy"
**
When we got back to the packhouse, I had to rehearse, on how I will tell her she's my mate. I kept pacing around the room trying to get the perfect words to say. I could hear a phone ringing but it wasn't my phone. "It has to be the other one I usually keep in my wardrobe. I picked the phone up and checked the caller. I groaned. I guess I will have to rehearse tomorrow. Right now, work calls.
