Chapter 620
The door opened, and Broderick Ackerley’s shirt was half off, showing off his well-defined muscles.
One side of it still clung to his shoulder, the other just lazily draped around his waist—it was almost criminal how attractive he looked.
But Leslie Green wasn't in the mood to enjoy the view. Her eyes were glued to the injury on his arm.
The doctor didn’t even glance up when someone walked in. With the nurse assisting him, he was getting ready to remove the bullet.
Leslie sat down next to Broderick and gently held his hand.
“Mr. Ackerley, since you insisted on skipping the anesthetic, it’s gonna hurt when they take the bullet out. You'll need to brace yourself.”
Broderick gave a small nod. One hand clutched a towel, the other remained in Leslie’s grip.
He tried to pull away, but she held on tightly.
“Leslie, let go. I’m afraid I'll squeeze too hard and hurt you when the pain hits.”
Leslie shook her head, giving him a soft, sweet smile.
“It’s okay. Broderick, I want to hold your hand.”
