Leslie arrived shortly after and only let out a breath of relief when she saw Broderick was perfectly fine.
The man involved was Robert Hill.
"Look, you've got twenty years of driving experience under your belt. Come on, crossing the double yellow and hitting someone head-on? Quit the act. Who paid you off to do it?"
"No one! I swear, my car slipped-it malfunctioned! I didn't aim for anyone!"
Broderick quickly recorded his statement while his phone kept ringing nonstop.
He kept checking the time, clearly running out of patience.
"I'm heading back. Keep me posted if anything else comes up."
"Yes, Mr. Ackerley, understood."
He turned to Connor. "Get someone to dig deeper."
Honestly, they were lucky-at least no one got hurt today.
Since their previous driver had PTSD and couldn't continue, Connor drove the car himself.
"Yes, sir."
Leslie lowered her eyes, thoughts flickering in her mind.
Was Marcus really in such a hurry already? Making a move so soon? But why?
