Work has proven to be a good distraction from the mess that is my divorce with Stella. Our lawyers have been fighting back and forth on our behalf while Stella and I continue to ignore each other.
Neither of us has sent a call or text message to the other, the last bits of communication between the two of us being the slamming of a car door while she rushes back inside of her apartment building. I’m pretty sure that the tire marks from my car are burned into the asphalt in front of the building, a permanent stain of our disdain for each other.
I shuffle through the various documents that my secretary placed on my desk for me. Many of the pieces of paper revolve around a new project that my company and I are working on.
